Personal Injury: Man Dies During Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival

|

Large festivals have been an enjoyment of music lovers for many years. For the last 20 years, thousands of people have flocked to a community in Tennessee for a four-day music festival, and many choose to camp on the provided grounds for accommodations. Unfortunately, the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival does not always go as planned for attendees, and many leave with a personal injury. This year, a man died while attending the festival.

The man's death is not the first one to darken the gates of the festival grounds. It is the 13th death in the last 20 years of the festival's existence. The man was discovered in a vehicle and was pronounced dead when authorities arrived mid-morning. Investigators hope an autopsy will offer some clues to the events that may have led to the 32-year-old's death. Although the investigation has just begun, investigators did report that they did not suspect that his death was a result of foul play.

While performers like Eminem, The Killers, and the Muse all entertained, the festival coordinators had to issue continued reminders for attendees to hydrate due to the expected high temperatures during the weekend. Every year campers who are not familiar with the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning due to running recreational vehicles result in multiple calls to the local fire departments, and this year was no exception. Multiple arrests and citations were also issued for public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and illegal possession of a controlled substance.

Festival attendees who experienced a serious personal injury during the festival may be subject to unexpected medical expenses. While attendees are responsible for their own safety, the festival organizers are also responsible for maintaining the premises to ensure the safety of the mass of people. Some injured victims may find a Tennessee attorney's advice helpful following the festival because some circumstances may be appropriate to file claims for monetary damages accrued due to the negligent or reckless co duct of others.
