2 Hit-And-Run Motorcycle Accidents Occur in 1 Night

|

Riding a motorcycle can be dangerous. Often, the most danger a rider can face on the road is another vehicle. A collision with a larger vehicle can result in a motorcycle operator losing control of his or her bike and result in serious injuries, or worse. Recently, Tennessee authorities were called to separate fatal motorcycle accidents in one night.

A 52-year-old man was the first victim and sadly died before authorities were able to attempt medical care. Initial reports indicate that a dark vehicle, possibly a Honda, struck the man's bike. The vehicle left the scene of the 12:35 a.m. accident, but authorities are actively searching for the hit-and-run driver. The interstate was closed as authorities investigated the scene.

A second crash, about three hours later, also resulted in a motorcyclist's death. Authorities believe the bike was struck by a pickup truck. The 29-year-old rider suffered serious injuries and also did not survive to be transported for medical care. Reportedly, the driver and passenger of the pickup ran away on foot.

Motorcycle accidents can result in serious and fatal injuries, as in these tragedies cases. An unexpected death can change a family's life in an instant. After a victim's death, a family has to make numerous burial expenses in addition to losing any contributions a victim may have made to a family. Many victims, including the surviving families of deceased victims, find the advice of a personal injury attorney in Tennessee an asset when understanding the options for legal recourse in these circumstances.
